    Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA) has welcomed the Fruit, Vegetables and Diet Score Report published today by the CSIRO as it highlights the need for a focus on improving the dietary patterns of Australian adults, finding that only 51 per cent are eating the recommended intake of fruit and that 66 per cent are not eating enough vegetables.

    Complementary medicines Australia (CMA) is disappointed that melatonin won’t be made available to Australian consumers without a prescription as it is in other areas around the globe including the US and Canada. This follows a decision by the Advisory Committee on Medicines Scheduling that melatonin for human use will for now remain in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard.

    In its pre-Budget submission, Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA) has welcomed the Government’s continued focus on improving Australia’s competitiveness via removal of burdensome regulatory red tape. This includes the Medicines and Medical Devices Regulation (MMDR) reforms that aim to ease regulatory requirements where they do little to improve consumer protection but are a barrier to business.
