The Complementary Healthcare Council (CHC) is calling for Expressions of Interest from members interested in participating on the CHC AQIS/ Industry Working Group. Expressions of Interest can be sent to Emma Burchell at technical@chc.org.au by COB Monday 31 January 2011.

A teleconference has been arranged for this group to meet on the 22 February 2011 from 10-12pm AEDT. Could members please indicate in their expression of interest their availability to attend this meeting date.

The CHC wishes to notify members that the TGA has published a draft compositional guideline for Steviol glycosides and is seeking comment: http://www.tga.gov.au/newsroom/consult-compguid-steviol.htm. If members would like to make comments on the draft guideline, please send comments to Emma Burchell at technical@chc.org.au by COB 25 February 2011

The CHC reminds members that FSANZ are also seeking comment regarding steviol glycoside on maximum permitted levels. Comments on the FSANZ proposal can be sent to Emma Burchell at technical@chc.org.au  by COB 19 January 2011.

The CHC wish to notify members that the Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Ageing, the Hon Catherine King MP, has expanded the Terms of Reference for the TGA Transparency Review to collect input on the need to improve public awareness of, and access to, information on the arrangements for regulation of therapeutic goods advertising.
