Regulatory Affairs

Complementary Medicines Australia advocates appropriate government regulation for complementary healthcare products that recognises the low risk nature of the products while upholding safety, quality and efficacy standards necessary to ensure consumer confidence.

We keep members up to date with industry developments as they happen with regular communications in the form of Technical Alerts and updates in our fortnightly newsletter The Supplement.

Such issues include new or changed regulatory requirements of the Therapeutic Goods Administration and Food Standards Australia New Zealand; matters arising out of the international trade and regulatory agreements; developments relating to specific products including warnings and technical developments; changes in manufacturing and labelling requirements and changes in advertising rules and claims.

As the peak industry body for complementary medicines you as members are the first to hear about matters directly affecting your industry and your business’ success.
